Venice Miller-Travis is a senior associate with the environmental consulting group Miller-Travis & Associates and Skeo Solutions.
River Rally was full of friendly folks with plenty of networking opportunities. Pictured here is Marla from KRCC with Jeff from River Relief and river guide extraordinaire, before a field excursion along the Missouri River and to the confluence with the Mississippi River. It was 80 degrees, sunny with a cool wind; a great day to be on the water! Featured guest Chad Pregracke, founder of Living Lands & Waters, leads a tour of three boats and 25-30 River Rally attendees down the river. Where was the trash? Gone!
Gary Bolan from American Rivers talking about creating a green infrastructure program. Other great talks included presentations by Groundwork USA, a non-political approach to community revitalization, including their work in community engagement in New Orleans and cleaning up the polluted Anacostia River near Washington DC. Mike Bolander, Anacostia Riverkeeper, gave an excellent presentation on Urban Subsistence Angling & Environmental Justice.
